The Lorain County Bar Association has developed relationships with a variety of vendors who are willing to offer our members discounts on products and services simply because they belong to the Lorain County Bar Association.
Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association
The LCBA entered into a partnership between the LCBA and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (“CMBA”) to offer our members the opportunity to join the CMBA at a discounted rate. The CMBA offers many benefits of membership. One of the greatest benefits of joining the CMBA is free access to Fastcase, a comprehensive 50 state law library available online. Fastcase is the fastest growing legal research tool in the world. The normal rate for membership in the CMBA is up to $315. The CMBA offers a Schedule B membership to attorneys that live and practice outside of Cuyahoga County. You receive all of the benefits of membership at a lower rate (maximum $130). However, as a Lorain County Bar Association member, your rate is discounted even further. The cost to join the CMBA through the LCBA is only $100! By taking advantage of this offer through the LCBA, there are no applications to fill out to join the CMBA. All you have to do is check the line item on the enclosed dues statement. You then pay the LCBA for both your LCBA dues and your CMBA dues ($125 and $100, respectively, for a total of $225).

Additional Benefits of Membership
Low Cost CLE Seminars
The Lorain County Bar Association is committed to providing its membership with low cost, informative, educational programs. We are constantly exploring unique and cutting-edge program ideas to bring to our membership. The LCBA also offers one or two free CLE’s a year for its members.
Lawyer Referral Service
The LCBA is pleased to that we now have the ability to assist persons in need of legal services by utilizing our Lawyer Referral Service (“LRS”). The LCBA takes calls from individuals willing and able to pay usual and customary attorney fees and matches them with attorney participants on various LRS practice panels. In its first full year of operation, the LCBA matched over 700 individuals and companies with lawyers that participate in the service. For more information, contact the LCBA at 440-323-8416.
Parking Spaces
One of the biggest inconveniences when coming to Downtown Elyria is parking and worrying about receiving a ticket for parking over the time limit. Members of the Lorain County Bar Association can avoid this problem by taking advantage of a benefit offered by the LCBA – parking in our parking lot. We have 10 spaces available for members to use free of charge when they are in Elyria (parking space #12-22). All you have to do is stop in the office to advise that you are parking in the lot and provide the make and model of your vehicle (this way we will know the vehicles do belong to our members). If the bar office is not open when you park, simply call and leave a voicemail.
Conference Facilities
The LCBA has two conference rooms available free of charge to members (non-members will be charged a nominal fee to use the rooms) to use for client meetings, depositions, or just a place to work in between court hearings. We also offer free wi-fi. The small conference room accommodates up to 4 people and our large conference room can hold up to 12 people. If you are in need of a conference room, contact the LCBA offices.
Committees and Sections
Bar members have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of Committees and Sections (at no cost). Participation on a committee or in a section promotes networking opportunities, professional development and growth, the opportunity to exchange information and the chance to make a difference in our profession.
